Carol is a composer, pianist, playwright, arranger and singer.  She started her musical studies at the age of 9 and has continued to pursue her love of piano repertoire throughout her life.  Her love for theater began in high school, working as musical director and also director of several shows, including You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Irene.  She took an extended hiatus from theater and began writing and arranging music for her family, known as The Taubl Family Band.  Carol, her husband John, and their seven children performed all across the country, culminating in a finalist position on America’s Got Talent in 2008. Carol’s theater work resumed as her children went off to college, working as musical director at various places including Long Wharf Theater and Educational Center for the Arts.  She founded SOUND Affect in 2012, providing vocalists with a space to use their voice to bring hope and change to many. She also founded SOUND Affect International, teaching music to children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.  Her favorite thing to do, other than performing with SOUND & Stage, is spending time with her six grandchildren.

Dawn was born in Stamford, Connecticut. Due to her father’s job with World Vision, she grew up assisting with emergency relief work in the DR of Congo, Haiti, and different parts of the USA. She started teaching music with SOUND Affect Int’l, at the age of 13, in countries such as Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Since then, she has never lost her passion for music education. She got a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theater and a minor in Neuropsychology from Azusa Pacific University, where she was awarded “Outstanding BFA Senior” and graduated “Magna Cum Laude”. She then went on to start working with SOUND Affect and also did some non-profit work with Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Hands Offering Hope. She currently works as a private coach for audition training, piano, and voice. She is also the general music teacher at Ezra Academy, and the Assistant Director & choreographer for SOUND Vocal Ensembles. Her newest role is as Co-Director and Co-writer of SOUND & Stage Theater Company, fulfilling a big dream she has had to create content that is powerful, convincing, inspiring, and wholesome! She’s proud wife of Sam Taubl, daughter of Frank & June Williams, and daughter-in-law of John & Carol Taubl.

June was born in Connecticut, spent eighteen years traveling with her military family within the U.S.A., Germany and Japan, and spent a year of college in Paris learning French. With her husband and children, she lived in Africa, where she taught K-12, and Haiti, where she taught high school and continuing education in the Haitian prisons. She also started a program for street boys in Haiti. She speaks Haitian Creole and French. The family returned to Connecticut in 2010, where June has been a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and has hosted international students.  She is co-founder of Sound Affect Int’l and enjoys helping with their musical productions. She enjoys writing, photography and travel. She is currently becoming a certified Therapeutic Coach.

Frank is currently VP/Strategic Partnerships and Legal for global reforestation beneficial corporation, Spades.life, and prior to such role served as CFO and then CEO of Bridgeport Rescue Mission in Connecticut. Frank served with World Vision International in the United States, Kenya, Haiti, South Africa, and the Democratic Rep. of Congo, experiencing major political, economic, and programmatic disruptions while designing and implementing child-focused humanitarian and developmental programming at the last mile. Frank has also worked in law, publishing and accounting and has degrees in business and law. Frank has served on the board of a US law school and currently serves as board chair for a nonprofit operating in 25 countries with 30,000+ volunteers. Frank also advises nonprofits on various matters, particularly on innovation acceleration. Frank has experienced life’s adventures with his wonderful wife, June, and their three children.

JOHN TAUBL, Treasurer

John grew up in Darien, CT. He met his wife, Carol, one evening roller skating in Stratford, CT, and they have been married for 43 years. Together they have raised seven children now all adults and some are parents themselves. 

John graduated from Darien, HS 1978 and attended Norwalk Community College for Business Management.  He worked 17 years as a Sr. Buyer for the Burndy Corporation of Manchester, NH and is currently working for RBC Heim Bearings Corp. of Fairfield, CT as their Supplier Quality Engineer. John has served on foreign missions with Sound Affect International and Trinity Cares International in the countries of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He enjoys spending time with his 5 grandchildren and coaching American Legion baseball during the summer months.

 

Armen Abrahamian

Armen Abrahamian, CLTC, CSA, CIC, the Principal of Long Term Care Insurance, LLC (LTCI), is a nationally recognized leader in the field of long term care. He is often called upon by legal, accounting, and financial professionals to assist their clients who require long term care planning.  He has been selected by leading corporations, associations, and government bodies to offer long term care solutions to their employees and members. Over this time period, he has helped over 2000 clients secure long-term care protection. More recently, he has been committed to assisting State legislators in creating sustainable long-term care policy and solutions. Outside of work, he plays in a band and is involved with the music team at his church. He and his wife Mary Ellen have been married for over 30 years and they love their adult children…Emily and Michael. 

Keith Guinta

Keith is a husband and father of two grown boys.  He has served around the world in International missions and currently works rescuing girls from the grips of sex trafficking in the Philippines. He and his wife Jill launched a church plant in Fairfield, CT where he served as Executive Pastor and Worship Leader.  Reentering the business world in 2010, he now owns a small I.T. business and is also a writer.  Keith has enjoyed many extreme hobbies over the years including mountaineering, standup comedy, Ironman racing, marathoning, bike racing, and home coffee roasting. Keith and his wife, Jill, joined the SOUND Int. Board in 2014.

Jill Guinta 

Jill is a wife and a mother of two grown boys. She and her husband, Keith, joined the SOUND Int. Board in 2014. She is passionate about education and raising up the next generation of brilliant minds. She and her family were part of developing a church plant in Fairfield, CT, where she served as Director of Children’s Ministry for 12 years. She currently works in the office at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, CT, and has served the school in many different capacities for over 18 years.

Gaelin Johnson

Gaelin was born and raised in New Haven county, and still lives there today with her husband and their three daughters. She is the Office Manager at a church in Woodbridge. She is passionate about culture and leadership, and she applies this within her job by prioritizing care and morale. Gaelin and her husband Kevin both enjoy using their musical gifts to help with events and festivals! She is a proud parent of children who attend SOUND Vocal ensembles and private lessons as well. She loves working within different areas of service and helping people in the community. She strongly believes that music is one of the greatest ways of touching hearts and spreading love. With three young kids, her free time is usually spoken for. But she is so grateful to be in this very active and fun season of life!

 

Michael Abrahamian 

Mike is a CPA and QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor who brings a wealth of expertise in Audit, Tax, Bookkeeping, and Consulting to his clients. Having worked for the largest Tea Manufacturer in the United States by market share, Mike has gained valuable insights and knowledge in the accounting field. His true passion lies in delivering effective tax planning strategies and providing business owners with easily understandable financial guidance, empowering them to grow their businesses and enhance their bottom lines. Mike's Educational achievements include graduating “Cum Laude” from Stonehill College, where he earned his Bachelor's in Accounting. He furthered his Education by obtaining an MBA from Fitchburg State University, solidifying his foundation in finance and business management. Outside of his professional pursuits, Mike treasures the quality time spent with his loved ones, valuing the bonds he shares with his family and friends. He finds relaxation and enjoyment in golfing, embracing the challenges of the sport while fostering connections on the course. Additionally, Mike actively participates in his church and his band, using his musical talents to enrich the worship experience and engage with his artistic side. Mike and his wife, Laurie, reside in Fairfield, where they find fulfillment in the vibrant community and the joys it brings to their lives.

Emily Thomas

Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Ithaca College. After, she moved to New York City where she worked in casting and then production for the soap opera, "As the World Turns." She returned to her theater roots, taking a position in Development for The Rev Theatre Company in Central New York. When she and her husband started a family, she took a job coordinating a variety of things including communications, music, and graphics for a church. She’s also passionately assisted with an annual Sports & Arts Camp for many years. She now resides in Manlius, New York with three kids and her husband.

Sam Taubl

Sam was born and raised in Derry, New Hampshire. He comes from a very musical family of 7 children. Sam started his education in music at age three when he picked up the cello. At age eight he was accepted into the Juilliard pre-college program in New York City. He continued his musical education at Juilliard until age 16. Sam lived in Port au Prince Haiti for a year after graduating from high school in 2011. He started a music program at an orphanage in the center of the city. From there Sam moved back to New Haven, CT. Sam was heavily involved with the worship ministry at Black Rock Church in Fairfield, CT for 5 years. He has 6 years of previous experience working with and mentoring both children’s and youth groups and has mentored the youth at Trinity Church in Woodbridge CT since he was hired in 2017 as Worship Director. In 2022, Sam took on oversight of the youth ministry at Trinity church and now serves as the Director of Youth and Worship. Sam feels blessed to be a part of the SOUND Affect community and is excited to see how the organization grows in the coming years. Sam is proud to continue serving on the SOUND Affect board with his wife, Dawn Taubl.
